Come on gang … I still need your help. You’ve gotta sign up for the free iPod using THIS LINK!! I’ve completed my offer (went with the GM Card). Now I need 5 people to sign up and complete their own offers. I’ve had 2 people sign up but not complete their offers yet. I need 3 more and then everyone has to complete their offers. Come on … help a gal out. I want that iPod. G-grin I’ll buy you a beer if you do … drink_beer

I scream, you scream

I’m making ice cream. I’m finally using the ice cream maker that Dad had gotten me. It came with a mix (but it only makes 2 quarts). I added frozen strawberries (that I slightly pureed). Hopefully it turns out. But damn is that thing loud. LOL It should be done around 8:30pm or so. I can’t wait to try it. Then I need to search for some nummy recipes to try to make.

Lunch time

[WebMistress Note: I wrote this (with pen and paper) during my lunch hour. I’ve changed the post time to reflect that even though I’m typing it up around 8pm]

I’m sitting in the US Bank Plaza for lunch right now. It’s a nice spot for lunch as long as the weather is good. It’s a bit cool, but I’ve got my jean jacket on.

I got a ‘bug up my butt’* this morning while working on an editor for a site. I’m gonna work on re-doing the backend of my Dale Jr and Chance 2 websites. I’ve been using my installation of MT for the press reports on my Jr site, but I think I’m gonna write my own editor for it (in php). I’ve done quite a few of ‘em for a site I’ve been working on at work (mostly in ASP though … and I didn’t know ASP when I started here).

So … I’ve been sketching out what I want to do on my sites during lunch, while it’s still fresh in my head.

While I’ve been sitting here, I saw something I’ve never seen around here before. A van was driving around playing a message over a loud speaker. Something about voting for someone for governor. I think it was a Libertarian candidate or something. I just thought it was funny (and I had to blog about it … even though I’m writing this and will have to type it up later.

I’m gonna get back to my website ideas. I hope this afternoon goes as fast as this morning did. And it IS Friday, so we’ll have ‘fun hour’ from 4-5pm … woohoo party

I see London

Mace informed me last week that today is National Underwear Day. How come this holiday isn’t on my calendar?

(and Mace … no I didn’t steal my title from you … I actually thought of it earlier today when I wasn’t able to blog G-razz3 )

Well, in honor of this special holiday, see the extended entry …

Dear Mother Nature:

I’m sorry, but I have to express a complaint. I know that I live in North Dakota. But it is the beginning of August still. Where the hell is the summer-like weather? As of 5pm (central), it is only 56°F out with a north wind at 18 mph. I believe the “average” temps for this time of the year are in the 80s. How come we haven’t even reached 60° today? We barely got over 60° yesterday. Tomorrow, the forecast is for a high of 67°F. Lisa and I are planning on going to watch the fireworks tomorrow nite (the PGI Fireworks convention is in town again and I got tickets through work). I don’t wanna freeze sitting outside watching the fireworks.

So … I’m putting in my request … no, make that demand for summer-like weather again. It’s bad enough that we have to deal with -40°F or colder wind chills during the winter. I want summer!!!

Sincerely,
Becky R

I need a change

I SO need a change. And not a little change. A BIG change. Don’t know what it needs to be, but it needs to happen.

I thought that this new job would be the starting point for my change. I mean, I AM working again. But I’m still not happy. I just feel kinda empty. Maybe it’s ‘cuz I spend so much time alone. I don’t have that many friends. And those that I do have, I generally only see every couple weeks.

Or maybe I’m just starting to PMS early … LOL.

Coolness

I absolutely love my new camera. This Canon A75 rocks!! I’ve been playing with it a bit, but I really do need to read the manual. The camera has some manual settings as well as some preset special ones. I need to figure out what settings to use to take the best pics … especially of Avalanche onstage. I don’t wanna have to lighten the pics in my graphics program. That’s one of the main reasons I chose this camera.

And some of the preset special settings are cool. There’s a fireworks setting that I might try out next week. The pyrotechnics convention is in town again. I’ve got a couple of one nite tickets from work. Lisa and I are planning on going on Wednesday nite. Would be a good time to test that feature.

It’s also got nite scene, portrait, fast shutter, slow shutter, landscape, and panoramic modes. And the movie mode kicks ass. You can take up to 640×480 movies WITH sound. That’s gonna be fun with Avalanche. I can get a movie clip with sound to put on the website. How cool is that?

And if I play with the manual settings, hopefully I won’t have to adjust the pics too much in my graphics program. That’s why I need to play with it more. And I’m gonna search the net for some tips too. I did post on a camera forum to see if I can get any tips. A couple people already gave me a couple tips.

If anyone who comes across this entry has a Canon A75 (or any other Canon A-series camera), if you’ve got any tips, they’d be greatly appreciated.

BTW

I thought I should update you about my camera delivery. They called back a while ago and said I could pick it up between 7:30 and 8:30pm. You can bet I’ll be up there shortly after 7:30pm … LOL. Goody goody. I’ll have a toy to play with this weekend. Now I’m gonna have to get more batteries and a bigger media card.

Hopefully the weather isn’t too bad around then. There’s a nice looking line of storms out there right now. It’s raining here. No thunder and lightning though … at least not yet. But nothing is gonna keep me from getting my camera … LOL.

I’ve seen in a couple of places online about the free iPod thing. Christine and PromoGuy both did it. So I thought … what the hell. I did it from Promo’s referral link.

So … here’s the deal. I need 5 people to do the offer from my referral. Can ya help me out? If so … go here. I’d really appreciate it. Thanks.
