Dammit!

Dammit, dammit, dammit. UPS tried to deliver my camera at 1:55pm today. And of course I was at work. I don’t know if they tried to leave it with someone else or not. It was a signature required, so I don’t know if that means they need MY signature or anyone’s signature.

One of the guys at work works at UPS at nite. So I asked him if I’d be able to pick it up at the UPS office yet tonite. He said I should be. I called the number on the InfoNotice as soon as I got home. Stupid automated system. I would have rather talked to a real live person here in Fargo. But going thru the options, I was able to choose ‘pick it up’ and to do so yet today. They said that UPS would call me back within an hour. That means they should call by 6:15pm or so.

I’d better be able to go and get it yet tonite. I am NOT gonna wait ’til Monday to get it. No frickin’ way. I wanna play with it this weekend. I don’t care how late it is … I’ll run up there and pick it up. I WANT IT!!! Guess I’m just gonna have to wait for UPS to call me back.

Damn Brown Truck. LOL

Out for delivery

I decided to come home for lunch today since it’s Friday. But I’m gonna have to head back soon. I need to stop for gas on my way back. The main reason I came home was to track my camera. According to UPS tracking, it’s currently out for delivery. I really hope they leave it with a neighbor if they deliver it while I’m at work. Otherwise I won’t get it ’til Monday. And that’ll tick me off. I wanna play with it this weekend.

Shit … I’d better get going. Don’t know how long it’s gonna take me to get back since it’s the noon hour (I had no trouble coming home, but I left work at 11:30). And I need to get gas too. That’ll take a little time. Hopefully this afternoon goes fast. This morning did. And we’ve got ‘fun hour’ from 4-5pm today (since it’s Friday). That shortens the day.

Hopefully I don’t get rained on too much on my way back.

Exploded ‘em up

OMG … after today at work, I feel like my head is gonna explode. The task I’m working on is to try to figure out where a glitch is coming from in a shopping cart. I’m used to advanced beginner type database stuff. This shopping cart database is definitely advanced advanced. It uses stored procedures and functions. I thought I had found the issue at the end of the day yesterday. Guess not. I just don’t know if I’m going to be able to figure it out. This is definitely my most challenging task since I started. I liked the one where I started the site from scratch (well, from the graphic designers psd file, but I put it in html/php). This database shopping cart stuff is gonna make my head explode.

Testing Meme Propagation In Blogspace: Add Your Blog!

This posting is a community experiment that tests how a meme, represented by this blog posting, spreads across blogspace, physical space and time. It will help to show how ideas travel across blogs in space and time and how blogs are connected. It may also help to show which blogs (and aggregation sites) are most influential in the propagation of memes. The dataset from this experiment will be public, and can be located via Google (or Technorati) by doing a search for the GUID for this meme (below).

Please join the test by adding your blog (see instructions, below) and inviting your friends to participate — the more the better. The data from this test will be public and open; others may use it to visualize and study the connectedness of blogspace and the propagation of memes across blogs.

The GUID for this experiment is:

as098398298250swg9e98929872525389t9987898tq98wteqtgaq62010920352598gawst

The above GUID enables anyone to easily search Google or other search engines for all blogs that participate in this experiment, once they have indexed the sites that participate, which may take several days or weeks. To locate the full data set, just search for any sites that contain this GUID.

Anyone is free to analyze the data of this experiment. Please publicize your analysis of the data, and/or any comments by adding comments onto the original post (see URL above). (Note: it would be interesting to see a geographic map or a temporal animation, as well as a social network map of the propagation of this meme.)

INSTRUCTIONS

To add your blog to this experiment, copy this entire posting to your blog, and then answer the questions below, substituting your own information, below, where appropriate. Other than answering the questions below, please do not alter the information, layout or format of this post in order to preserve the integrity of the data in this experiment (this will make it easier for searchers and automated bots to find and analyze the results later).

Bloody hands?

The only bad thing about cooking up beets and peeling ‘em so I can eat ‘em, is that my hands (and everything else the water I cooked ‘em in touches) turn purplish-red. But my hands did wash clean easily.

And man them beets are nummy. They probably won’t last past supper tomorrow nite … LOL.

On its way

I checked on my camera this morning. It was shipped yesterday … dancin It’s supposed to be here on Friday. I’m just afraid that it’ll be delivered while I’m at work and won’t be left with a neighbor, and I won’t get it ’til Monday. I’m gonna keep an eye on where it is and then call UPS on Thursday maybe to see if they know the approximate time it would be delivered and if it’s before 5pm, if I can just pick it up at the UPS place. I don’t wanna have to wait over the weekend to get my camera when I know that it’s in town. I’ll keep ya posted. G-smile

Where is it?

Becky is really not happy with her bank right now. Grrr …. censored I just checked my account online, and my paycheck that I deposited on FRIDAY still isn’t showing as being deposited. It shows it as deposited on August 2 and then it’s taken back out via a ‘delayed funds availability’. I even called the phone line to check, and it had the same thing as the online showed. ‘Scuse me? Put my fucking money in there. If my landlords were to deposit my rent check, it would mean I’d be WAAAAY overdrawn because the fucking bank won’t give me my money. If it’s not there tomorrow, there’ll be hell to pay!!! I’ll have to remember to call the phone line at noon.

I scream

Mom and Dad came to visit this afternoon. Dad needed some stuff at Wally-world, and Mom had some garden veggies for me. I’ve got a HUGE bag of peas, a bag of beans, and a bag of beets. Nummy.

And Dad gave me an ice cream maker. I guess his boss gave it to him (at least that’s what he says … I was gonna pay him for it, but he said he got it for free). They must not have been able to sell it or something. I can’t wait to use it. I’ll have to buy a bag of ice first. And I’ll have to see how I can spice up the vanilla mix that came with it. I can’t make just plain vanilla. Not sure if I’ll add fruit or chocolate or what.
