Die spammers die

I’ve been dealing with this asshole spammer for the past few days. It started out with one set of links and is now something different. I know it’s from the same spammer ‘cuz it’s the same format. I guess I jinxed myself when I told Mace I didn’t get much comment spam.

I’ve implemented a couple plugins tonite … Kitten’s Spam Words and Spammer Tar Pit. I’m hoping they will get rid of this asswipe.

If you encounter any issues when trying to comment, please be patient. I’ll iron them out. I need to get my feedback form back online too.

I need a hug

I don’t know why … but I’m just in a crappy mood right now. I was in a decent mood ’til Jr crashed out of the race. But that shouldn’t be the reason I’m in this mood. Boy … do I wish I had a guy to give me a hug right now. That’s all I need … just a hug. G-frown

Lasagna Casserole

Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion (more or less if you like onion)
1 12oz. can tomato paste
1 15oz. can tomato sauce
3 1/2 c. water
1 box mini lasagna noodles (12oz.)
shredded mozzarella cheese
cottage cheese
salt, pepper, season salt, lemon pepper, garlic salt, etc. to taste

Hardware:
9 x 13 in. baking dish
dutch oven or other deep saucepan/pot
measuring cup(s)
wooden spoon
aluminum foil

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2. Saute the onions ’til they just start to get soft. Add the ground beef, season to your liking, and cook ’til done. Drain off the grease.
3. Add the tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water. Bring to a boil and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
4. Let sauce cool for 5 minutes. Add the mini lasagna noodles (in raw form). Mix well.
5. Add half of the sauce-noodle mixture to bottom of 9 x 13 in. baking dish. Add layer of cottage cheese and mozzarella cheese (as much or as little as you like). Layer the remaining sauce-noodle mixture over the cheese and then add another layer of cheese.
6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil. Place in 350° oven and bake for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, take off the foil and return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese has browned to your liking. Can also turn on the broiler after 5 minutes.
7. Remove from oven, cut into pieces, serve, and enjoy.

Kitchen experiment

I’m playing in the kitchen tonite making supper. I’ve got a lasagna recipe from my Mom that I love and is easy as hell to make. I thought I’d vary it a bit. I’m using mini lasagna noodles instead of the regular lasagna noodles. I’m gonna stir them (raw) into the sauce. Then I’ll layer the sauce-noodle mixture with cheese (cottage cheese and mozzarella). I’m hoping it turns out. If it does and it’s good, I’ll post the exact recipe … both variations … in case anyone else wants to try it.

Well … I’d better go keep an eye on my sauce.

Soggy carpet update

I thought I’d give you an update on my soggy carpet. The area didn’t get any bigger thank goodness. But there is a spot where it’s REALLY SOGGY! I’ve got my fan on high aimed at it. I don’t know what else to do. I don’t have a shop-vac or know anyone in town who has one I could borrow. If the carpet starts to develop an odor, then I’ll give my apartment manager a call. Otherwise, I guess I’ll just have to wait for it to dry. It’s not in a high traffic area anyways.

Rain, rain, go away

I got up to go to the bathroom and went to grab a kleenex from my dresser before going back to bed. My dresser is between my bed and the outside wall. Well … I stepped on soggy carpet … shock censored banghead

My first thought was that my apartment is starting to flood from the rain. But upon inspection of the carpet in my living room and along the rest of the wall in my bedroom, I’ve discovered it’s isolated to that one spot … for now anyways. I supposed the area is around 3ft by 3ft or so. I hope it stays in that one spot. Otherwise the landlord is gonna get a call, that’s for damn sure. Now I probably won’t be able to get back to sleep ‘cuz I’ll be worried about the water getting in. It’s STILL raining outside, and there’s a big orange spot on the radar over Fargo. SHIT!! I’m glad it’s Saturday. At least I don’t have to get up for work in an hour and a half. I can sleep all day if I want too (or at least ’til noon when the Busch race starts … G-grin )

Well, I’m gonna go and inspect my carpet again and then try to go back to sleep. Cross your fingers crossfingers that it doesn’t get any worse.

Weather video

I took a video clip of the storm earlier tonite. It’s not the best video … I took it through my living room window. You can see the window screen. But it’s still kinda neat. And you can hear thunder too if you listen carefully (I love my camera).

You can view the video clip here (it’s embedded in the popup window). [it’s a 7 second video clip that’s 630kb]

I really hate to say this, but you’re gonna have to view the video in IE. I have no idea why, but it won’t play in Firefox or Mozilla … at least on my computer. But it does work in IE. I’m not sure if I don’t have a plugin I need or what. But I really wanted to put up the video.

Wacky weather

I do believe that we’re undergoing a climate change. If you want any proof … here ya go …

It’s almost November and I live in North Dakota. We’ve got a thunderstorm going on as I type. Rain is pouring down and there’s thunder and lightning. I’m loving it … but that’s ‘cuz I like storms. And it’s better than a blizzard.

But the fact that we’re getting a thunderstorm and not a blizzard right before Halloween is just crazy. I’m not complaining … believe me … I’d rather have rain than snow. But it’s just not a normal occurance.

Shit … maybe I should shut down my computer. I don’t want the lightning to cause a power surge and take out my ‘puter. And I need to keep an eye on that water line outside of my window. I hope the rain stops before it decides to come into my apartment. I need to find some more food for supper anyways.

Home … for a bit

I’m home from work early today. I had an extra 1hr 45min this pay period. I left at 3:15pm. But I still have to go back. Our checks weren’t ready by the time I left. It’s the first time our new receptionist has done payroll, so I understand why they weren’t done. But I really don’t wanna have to go back now that I’m home. And there’s a line of rain moving through (it’s red on the radar) … I don’t wanna have to go back out in the pouring rain. Oh well. I need to get my check so I can put it in the bank so I can pay rent and other bills. Oh joy … LOL. Maybe that line of rain will have moved through by 4:30pm when I plan to go back to get my check.

Dress up

Discussion item: do you dress up for Halloween? Either at work or going out (to the bar or trick-or-treating).

A bunch of people at work are dressing up tomorrow for Halloween. I guess it’s a tradition. I’m not sure if I’m gonna dress up or not. I don’t have a costume. I’ve never really bought a costume. In the past when I’ve gone out on Halloween, I’ve used stuff I’ve had around the house to create a costume … maybe buying accessories to go along with it. If I do dress up tomorrow, I’ll probably just wear my cowboy hat and boots and maybe hang my toy handcuffs (from a costume a couple years ago) on a belt loop of my jeans. I know … I’m lame ( loser ) … but that’s me … G-razz3
