Feed me

Christine asked me to add full RSS feeds for my blog. I wasn’t aware I wasn’t. I had exerpts and comments feeds. And I didn’t think anyone really paid attention to it. After all … I’m not all that interesting … zzz

I told Christine that I’d look into getting a full feed done up. Little did I know that all I had to do was change a single option in my WP admin and there were the full feeds. At least I think it is. It looks like it when I look at it, but I don’t have a feed reader. (I know … I’m probably the last one who doesn’t.)

So … here’s the link to the full RSS feed. If it doesn’t look right, let me know. Also … if the fact that I use relative links instead of absolute links (for references to other posts and for images I post) messes up the feed, let me know.

They do call it ’snail mail’

I got home from work tonite about 5:30pm (I had to stop at the bank to deposit my paycheck … twocents ). The mail was just being delivered when I got here … he was just finishing up. Talk about late mail. I’ve never known it to be this late. I wonder what held them up. The roads aren’t in bad condition. Maybe they’re starting to get and deliver Xmas packages and that slowed them down. Who knows. I didn’t get anything good anyways. Just yet another letter from my bank about the change-over (my bank got bought out and they’re switching over to the new one this weekend).

A day late

I may be a day late, but the sentiment is still the same. I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving.

I had a good Thanksgiving. I went home to Ma and Pa’s. I went Wednesday after work (I left a little early to try to beat the traffic and so it wasn’t so late when I got there). I helped Mom with Thanksgiving dinner. I prep-ed the turkey and basted it every 30 minutes or so. Mom also made a ham. I was gonna try to make a homemade stuffing, but decided to make Stove Top instead. There wasn’t room in the oven anyways. I made gravy from the pan drippings from the bird. Mom also made sweet potatoes (ewwww … I don’t like ‘em) and had cranberries (I don’t like those either). Mom made pumpkin pie too, and I had my Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake. It was very nummy. We had leftovers for supper, and I made scalloped corn (I would have made it for dinner but there wasn’t room in the oven).

Today, Lisa and I put up their Christmas tree. They’ve only got a 3 foot one. It still turned out looking nice. I also decorated Stubby while we were putting up Christmas stuff. That sure is one lazy, silly cat … LOL.

I think I’m gonna put up my Christmas tree tonite. I’ve already got lights strung around my living room. Now I just need to find where I buried my xmas stuff box when I cleaned my closet. I hope it’s not at the bottom of the pile of boxes.

Busy woman

I’ve got a busy nite ahead of me. I’ve already done some running around. I went grocery shopping LAST nite to get some stuff to Ma and Pa’s for Thanksgiving. Got almost everything. They didn’t have my herbs. Grrr … I get the poultry mix when I get them … it’s a pack with rosemary, thyme, and sage in it. It’s cheaper than getting a pack of all 3, and I don’t use all of the single pack anyways.

Well, after work, I stopped at one grocery store, but they didn’t have it. I then went back to one of the 2 I went to last nite (they had different stuff on sale). Thank goodness they had it tonite. I was afraid they’d still be out. But now I have my herbs.

I need to make my Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake tonite. I made it last year for the first time (darn Food Channel … putting ideas in my head … LOL). I loved it. So did everyone else. So I’m gonna make it again this year. Mom’s still making a pumpkin pie, but you can never have too many deserts … LOL. I also got a tub of French Vanilla Cool Whip last nite for it. Talk about nummy.

AND I need to update my Dale Jr and Chance 2 websites tonite. I never got around to it last nite.

AND I still need to pack up as much as I can tonite. I’m leaving work early tomorrow (at 3:45pm … I took half hour lunches this week and had 15 min extra from last week). I wanna be able to chuck everything in my car and head out as soon as I can. I wanna beat some of the traffic and get home close to supper time. I’ll be starving if I waited ’til 5pm to leave and pack and head home.

I just need to wait for my oven to heat up so I can pop in the pizza I bought when I bought the herbs. It’ll already be waiting for my cake. I’ve got the butter and cream cheese sitting on top of the oven to soften it quicker. I should start working on gathering my data to update my websites. It takes longer to grab the data than it does to update it … LOL.

How bad do I have it?

I got it BAD!! And in case you’re wondering what I’ve “got” … remember I’m a NASCAR fan. LOL “How ban do you have it”? is an advertising slogan for NASCAR for you non-NASCAR fans (doing my public service to inform the public … LOL).

Those of you who know me or have been reading this blog for a while know that I’ve “got it bad!!” G-grin

But why am I posting about this you might be asking. Well …

I had to go back to Wal-Mart today because one of the boxes of X-mas lights I bought were the wrong ones. I took ‘em back and got the right ones. I got 2 boxes of clear ones that I’m gonna string around the perimeter of my living room. I’ve been doing that for as long as I’ve been in this apartment (this will be my 3rd X-mas here). I’ve have the multi-colored lights in the past. I wanted the clear ones ‘cuz I might leave ‘em up year round. Nice mood lighting … bateyes

Anyways … back to the NASCAR angle. I was looking around at the ornaments and stuff to see what they had. Last time I was there, I saw they had some NASCAR bulbs and other ornaments. I didn’t really like them … the Dale Jr figure doesn’t even look like him. They’re a bit spendy anyways. But today I found something I just HAD to get. OMG … you gotta see it …

I need to go away

I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately. Ever since my birthday, I can’t seem to do anything right (hell … it probably started before that). I just need to go away … far far away. So I might not be writing much (not like that’s any different from normal).

Where’s the party?

party It’s at Pistol Pete’s tonite. Okay … it’s not really a “party” … but I AM celebrating my birthday tonite. It’s tomorrow (can’t go out to the bars on Sunday … well, I guess I could … there are some that are open … ).

Unfortunately, the band already knows it’s my birthday. I’m not sure if they remembered or if Mona told them Thursday nite when she went out there. I’m gonna try my damnedest to stay off of the stage … but I have a feeling that I won’t have a choice. But I am NOT gonna do a shot on stage. Mona might have on her bday, but I had nothing to do with that. I just took video with my camera … G-LOL And if I do end up on stage, I need to make sure to hide my camera so no one gets any pictures.

If I survive tonite (Mona’s driving so I can’t use that as an excuse not to drink a lot), I’ll try to post a recap tomorrow (if I’m up before the race starts and can actually function … LOL).

Zap

Is it a bad sign that when you touch a door knob or other metal surface, that you actually SEE the spark? LOL I get zapped at work every time I touch a door knob or door jam or anything else metal. I thought it was my shoes … that the soles were contributing to my zap-age. But I wore my tennis shoes today, and I STILL got zapped. STILL seeing the actual spark. This can’t be good. One of these days I’m gonna get electrocuted when I touch a doorknob. lightning

Think, think, think

Think, think, think

That’s gonna be me tonite. (I hope Pooh doesn’t mind that I borrowed his saying … LOL) Today at work, I was given an opportunity. They are giving me the opportunity to start working on a new project and eventually (in about 6 months) take it over … at least the programming aspect of it. After I took over the programming aspect of it, I would be in charge of all that kind of stuff … delegating tasks, coming up with way to improve the site.

YIKES!!

It would be a major increase in responsibility for me at work. I don’t know if I’m capable of that. But then again, I don’t have much confidence in myself. My employers must I guess, otherwise they wouldn’t have offered the chance to me.

This project utilizes asp. I’ve done a little bit of programming in asp, but not very much. Not much more than the basics. I have more experience in php. But they said that the asp involved in this site isn’t that advanced. It’s more database work (MSSQL … I’m used to MySQL).

This would also mean a bump in pay (not right away though). I don’t know how much … but every little bit helps.

I told them I would let them know tomorrow. I’ll have to weight the pros and cons. I’m not really sure there are that many cons … it’s more in my frame of mind and stuff. I know this is an awesome opportunity … especially since I never went to school for web programming (but I want to take classes in it … maybe the pay bump would help aid in that goal). I think it’s more about changing the way I see myself. I need to make myself see that I AM good at this … I DO have potential … I CAN have confidence in myself. Hell … I’m gonna be 29 years old this coming Sunday … I think it’s about time I started believing in myself … G-smile

I will be heard

For only the 2nd time in my 28 (almost 29) years … I did my civic duty. I voted today after work. I didn’t have to wait very long, thank goodness. My polling place was a grocery store … LOL. But I didn’t get a sticker … G-frown

Now I have a right to bitch and moan for the next 4 years … LOL.

Now I wonder how long before we’ll know the outcome …
