New setup

I promised to post pictures of my new monitor. Here ya go …
It’s here! It’s on my computer desk! It’s all set up! I’m using it! Woohoo …
I had to go to FedEx to pick it up, but it was painless. I just needed the door tag and my driver’s license. I only had to wait a couple minutes. Much easier than trying to get my camera when I wasn’t here when they delivered it.
It’s so nice to have a larger screen. And I’ve got so much more desk space now. I don’t know what to do with it all. I still have to put all my crap back on it that I took off. I figured I’d clean off the desk since I was moving most of it off so I could put on the new one. There was a little dust there too … LOL.
I need to read through the user guide a bit. Figure out the best settings. This screen is frickin’ bright. I turned down the brightness already, but I think I’ll have to turn it down some more. I haven’t seen a single deal pixel. That rocks!!
I need to put the rest of my crap back on my desk so I can go eat. I’m starving. But of course I had to set this up before I could do anything else …
I’ll have pics of my old setup and the new one a little later tonite. And I’ll have a review after I’ve used this for a while. But already I can tell you that I love it. It’s not as big as my monitor at work, but it’s big enough for me. Anything is better than that 15" that I had.
I just tracked my monitor, and as of 6:39pm, my monitor arrived at the FedEx Ramp in Grand Forks. GRAND FORKS! That’s an hours drive!! And it’s not scheduled to be delivered until Thursday? WHY?!? It’s in Grand Forks on a Tuesday … 1 hour away … and I’m not getting it ’til Thursday? That’s not fair.
Maybe they’ll update the delivery date and it’ll actually show up tomorrow. I doubt it. But I can hope, can’t I?
My new monitor is on its way to its new home on my computer desk …
It was shipped today. It’s scheduled to be delivered on Thursday. I’m probably gonna have to track it down after work ‘cuz it says delivery by 4:30pm. I don’t get home from work ’til almost 5:30pm (depending on traffic). I don’t care as long as I get it. Can’t wait …
Well … it’s done. I just ordered my new monitor. I got a ViewSonic VX715 from NewEgg.com. It cost me $289.00 total … $279 for the monitor, $10 for shipping, and NO TAX …
Now I just need to wait for them to process my order and ship it. They don’t process orders on the weekend. But my status is that I’ve been charged. It’s step 3 of of a 5 step process. Hopefully they’ll get my order processed tomorrow and shipped out. I was going to have them ship it to work so I don’t have to go and try to track it down, since they’ll more than likely try to deliver it while I’m at work. But the site said that having it shipped to another address adds a day. And I want my monitor NOW. LOL
I can’t wait to get this monitor. It’s bigger than the one I have now, but yet smaller. The screen size is bigger but the overall space it’ll take up on my desk will be smaller. Woohoo!! Yeah, I would have liked to get an even bigger one (like a 19" or 21" instead of the 17"), but I had a limited budget.
I still have about $80 left from my tax refund. I’m thinking about ordering the upgrade for PaintShop Pro. I’ve currently got version 7 and the newest version is 9. I should be able to get an upgrade version for about $50. But I’m also thinking about maybe getting more memory for my computer. But then again, I have a feeling that that $80 is gonna end up going for groceries and other stuff that I need. That’s fine though. I was able to get my monitor. That makes me happy …
Okay … this is freaky. I just read my horoscope on my ‘My Yahoo!’ page …
Scorpio
Daily extended (by Astrology.com)
A coworker you’ve been thinking about a lot lately — who seems to have been returning those lingering glances across the room for some time now — is about to let you know, one way or another, that they’re not afraid to stare back. They might even be brave enough to approach you in the hopes of a conversation. You’ve got to admire their courage, at the very least. And there’s a lot more to admire where that came from.
This is just too close to being real … at least on my part. There IS a coworker that I’ve been interested in for some time. But I’m a candy-ass and just figure it’s all one-sided. I thought I got him out of my head, but he went to the seminar on Wednesday too. The more I’m around him, the more he gets under my skin. Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
There have been times where it seems like he *might* be interested … that he might possibly be sneaking glances at me. But I just brushed those off telling myself that I was imagining things.
That horoscope almost scares me. But there’s part of me that wishes it would be right … that it would come true. But I’m not gonna get my hopes up … it’s just a horoscope. I have to keep telling myself that. It’s just a horoscope … it’s just a horoscope … it’s just a horoscope. But I still can’t help the “what if’s” from popping into my head.
OMG … I can’t stop laughing. I found the NASCAR IMAX Movie on DVD at Walmart today. I just put it in. The beginning of that is fuckin’ hilarious. Lisa … you’re gonna love it …
It starts out like it was back in the moonshine runnin’ days. A car is being chased by the cops. In the car being chased … Jimmie Johnson is driving and Ryan Newman is the passenger. In the cop car (who doesn’t catch the other car), Mike Helton is driving.
I gotta go watch this. I really wish I could have seen it in an actual IMAX theater. But the nearest one is in the Cities, and that’s too far to go just to see a movie.
This has been a LONG day. But a fun day. Got up at 3am. Got to work at 3:50am. Got to Minneapolis around 7:30am. Finally found the right place at about 8:15am. Seminar started at 8:30am (actually he didn’t start ’til about 8:45am). Seminar was done around 6pm. Went to get food. Left Minneapolis about 7:30pm. Got back to Fargo about 10:45pm. Got home about 11pm. LONG DAY!
At least Justin said we don’t have to come in to work tomorrow ’til 10am. I’ll probably get there before that. Depends on when I get up. Not sure yet when I’ll set my alarm for.
Brief overview … too tired to get into specifics. Seminar was good. Most of it was over my head, but not all. Learned some good stuff though. And the guy giving the talk was cute too. Made it that much more enjoyable …
The van ride up there was pretty tame. We were all still pretty sleepy. The van ride home … that was a different story. So was supper after the seminar. Lots of laughter.
Can’t think anymore. Will maybe blog more indepth tomorrow. Must go to sleep now …
