Concert pics

I got my pics from the Gary Allan concert on Friday up in my photo album. You can check ‘em out here if you’re interested. I shrunk ‘em down and put on a watermark so people wouldn’t steal ‘em. I’m not sure that they would … but I want to make sure I prevent it.

I had an issue trying to add them. I’m using the Gallery photo album software. I love it. But there’s an issue with the ownership on the previous ‘Concerts’ album I had created. I wasn’t able to add a new album or delete that one. I could add a new album to other top level albums though. Turns out that the ownerships for the files in that directory have a User of ‘Nobody’ and a Group of (?). I’ve emailed my web host to get that resolved. Until that happens … there are 2 ‘Concerts’ albums in the gallery. The first one is the one with the Gary Allan pics.

Anyways … check out the pics if you like Gary. I was pretty close to the stage … about 6 or so rows back. So I got some decent pics. I’ve already got one set as wallpaper. Hell … I set it as wallpaper shortly after I got home from the concert and got the pics off of my camera. G-grin

Torn

The Coca Cola 600 was a marathon of a race tonite. Yeah … it’s the longest race of the year … 100 miles longer than any other. But add in 22 cautions and 1 red flag … and it was a real doozie. Pre-race started at 4pm and the race didn’t get over ’til just after 10pm.

And talk about a rollercoaster of emotions. Martin Truex Jr brought out the first caution after he hit the wall. Dale Jr was falling backwards through the field. Dale Jr went a lap down and Martin almost did. Martin managed to get back on the lead lap and then Dale Jr did not too long after that. Dale Jr managed to get back in to the top 10 and then he forgot how to drive for a moment. He ran into Michael Waltrip on the straightway … talking Mike out as well as himself and Matt Kenseth and Terry Labonte. Let me say … I was not happy with him at that moment. Not only did he knock himself out of the top 10 … he knocked himself back to 15th in the points. Don’t get me wrong … I’m mad at Jr … but I’m still a fan of his. I’ll still be cheering him on next week and the week after that and …

On the upside … Martin finished 7th. Woohoo!!! He came back from adversity early in the race for an awesome finish. He definitely showed that he’s capable of running with the Cup boys. I hope that shuts up some of the people who last week said he had no business being in the All-Star race. Sure … he isn’t running all the Cup races this year … but it was NASCAR’s rules that made him eligible for it. HIS fans voted him in. It wasn’t because of Dale Jr that he got voted in. Martin has quite a fan base himself. I know … I’m a member of the message board on his official web site.

I am STILL wired after that race. And it’s been over for a hour and a half. I’m glad I don’t have to work tomorrow. It’s gonna be a while before I get to bed. I think I need to go crash on the couch and watch the rerun of CSI that’s on CBS right now.

I ♥ Gary Allan

OMG … I loved Gary Allan before tonite. Now … I love him even more. I just got home from his concert about a half hour ago. He played for almost 2 hours. And let me say … he ROCKED!!! Robin and I went … and we got to go for FREE. Thanks to the wonderful Avalanche gang. We had been planning on going anyways … but last Thursday I found out that Avalanche was opening for Gary. Kevin told me not to get any tickets. So I got 2 free tickets. I picked ‘em up yesterday from Brad. I can never thank them enough for the tickets. Like I said … we were gonna go anyways … but to go for free … and to such an awesome concert. That ROCKS!!

My poor camera got a workout tonite. I took almost 50 pics of Avalanche and then over 120 pics of Gary Allan (50.4 MB of pics total). And most of ‘em turned out too. Some of ‘em are a bit blurry … but I’m not suprised. It was so frickin’ crowded in there. And then the drunk asses had to start pushing. Why the hell do they have to do that? But my poor camera. It got warm on me. I wasn’t sure if I should turn it off and let it cool down or not. I didn’t. Didn’t wanna miss a good pic. I did miss a couple opportunities when I had to change the batteries. This is the first time I’ve actually run the batteries down on this camera.

The only bad thing … other than the asses pushing … is that my lower back is killing me. I’m not used to standing for that long … and it was on concrete too. But it was worth it … definitely!! And I got a guitar pick too. G-grin Gary was throwing ‘em in to the crowd all nite. I never got close enough to catch one though. BUT … as we were leaving … I saw one on the floor. So of course I snatched it up.

Here’s one of the MANY pics I got. I’ll try to get the others up on Monday (since I don’t work).

:: EDIT 14 Sept 2006 :: Sorry … I removed this image from this post. Some dumb ass decided to hotlink to it. Well, I’ll show them. They’re gonna get a fun little graphic to replace it … heeheehee.

Echo

Boy have I become a bad blogger. This is only my 3rd post this month. I just haven’t done anything to post about. I haven’t DONE anything period. I’m always tired … just don’t feel like being on the computer after being on it all day at work. I just don’t feel like doing anything. And I don’t know what to do to change that. So … things will probably continue to be sparse.

Some people’s kids

I’m gonna warn you now … this is a rant.

I went to the grocery store this afternoon ‘cuz I needed some more things … some stuff for what I’m making for supper and some other sort of meat and any other odds and ends I might pick up. I got to the store and grabbed a cart. I stopped to grab an ad since I didn’t have one (they come in the Wednesday paper for this store, and I don’t usually get a paper except for on Sundays). This little brat (who had ran back to get a cart) decided to run his cart into me … one of those with the car type front on it. And he ran it into my heal (I was wearing my sandals since it’s nice out today). censored I did kinda yell at him. I told him to watch where he was going. It fuckin’ hurt. Scraped skin, but luckily didn’t draw blood. I doubt it did any good though. I’m sure he’ll run in to someone again.

Sometimes when I’m out … I really think that some people should keep their kids on a leash. Not all kids, mind you. There are some very well behaved kids out there. But some people’s kids … put ‘em on a leash … G-grin
