Bright spot?

I just got a phone call a couple minutes ago. It was from one of the companies I sent my resume to on Saturday. They wanted to schedule an interview for later in the week. So … I have a job interview this Thursday morning. I’m not gonna let myself get my hopes up, but things are at least starting off better now than they did 2 and a half years ago. As I said in my last review … I KNOW that I need to have more confidence in myself. I’d better find that before Thursday … LOL.

My Online Resume

As I mentioned in this post, I am currently looking for a job.

Since Thursday afternoon, I have been working on updating my resume, tweaking it, and updating my resume website. I have that website completed and online now. Previously, you needed to have a username/password to access it. I’ve change that so that anyone can access it. It makes it easier when I send a link to a prospective employer. I just don’t have any personal contact information on the site or list my references. I do have a contact form on the site so prospective employers who run across the site can contact me if they’re interested in talking to me.

All that being said … if you know of anyone looking to hire a web programmer/developer/designer, can you point them towards my resume? I’d hold you forever in my debt (especially if something worked out). I would like to stay here in Fargo, but if the right opportunity came along, I WOULD be willing to relocate.

Thanks in advance for any leads anyone might pass along.

Job Search Links

I’m using this post to store some links that I think will be helpful in my job search. I’ll be adding to it as I find links. It’s more for me than you, but if you find it useful, good. As long as you don’t use it to take a job that I apply for … LOL.

Web Developer for Hire

If you know of anyone who is looking to hire a web developer/programmer, can you let me know.

I just (about 30-45 min ago) became unemployed. It’s not because of my performance. In fact … I just had a very favorable review last week. It is because of the situation of the company. They just found out (this morning in fact) that their biggest client (the one who’s projects I worked on) is pulling the plug. Because of that, they let at least 3 of us go … not sure about one other person. The remaining people will be there at least through the end of next week. After that, the outlook is uncertain. If things change, they said they would ask us back before hiring anyone else. No one is happy about the situation.

So … that being said … I’m lookin’ for a job. I already stopped at Job Service on my way home to see what I needed to apply for unemployment. I can apply online, so I’ll be doing that tonite or in the morning, depending on my mood. I grabbed a JobDig from there and got a Forum at CashWise. Time to update my resume and start scouring again. I’m NOT looking forward to this. But then again, who enjoys being unemployed?
