About
Hmmm … you really wanna find out some info on ME, huh? Are you sure? Can ya handle it? LOL
I’ll start with the name … WxGal’s World. What is a WxGal and why is this it’s World?
Well … wx is an abbreviation for weather. I have an interest in the weather. In fact … I have a degree in meteorology. That takes care of the Wx. As for the Gal, well … I’m a girl. So, there you have it … I’m WxGal. That’s been my online persona for almost as long as I’ve been online. As for World … well … this is where I live (online that is). Thus … it’s my world.
There you have it. You now know why this place is called WxGal’s World.
You’re still reading? I guess that means you want some more info about me. Well … here goes …
My name is Becky (last name omitted ‘cuz it’s none of your business. You could be some crazy person who wants to stalk me.). I live in southeast North Dakota. I’ve lived here all my life. I grew up in a small town of less than 1000 people. After graduation, I went to college at the University of North Dakota to pursue a degree in meteorology. After 4 years of college, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorological Studies. I then got a job at a company that performs weather modification/cloud seeding projects in the US and around the world. I worked there for four and a half years. After that, I took a job at a small web design company as a web programmer. I guess I turned a hobby into a career.
One of my interests is the weather … specifically severe storms. At some point in the future, I would like to work as a storm chaser, or at least have that as a hobby.
Another big interest of mine is NASCAR racing, specifically Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Martin Truex Jr. I started watching racing mid-season in 2000. I quickly developed a strong interest in racing. I never miss a race if at all possible. I even put together fan websites for both … The DaleJr Zone and The TruexZone.
My most recently developed interest is in website design. It started when I was asked to take over maintenace and design of the website for a former employer. I redesigned it (several times), and in the process learned quite a bit about the tricks of web design. This is the career path that I want to continue to pursue.
Well … that’s it. That’s me … in a nutshell.
