Sing … sing a song

I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon here (hopefully I don’t fall off … G-grin ). I found this over at Solonor’s. But it looks like I can’t be his friend any more. I don’t have ANY of his songs in my iTunes. G-frown

I WISH I had an iPod. Still trying to get one, but alas … I still only have 3 referers.

Concert pics

I got my pics from the Gary Allan concert on Friday up in my photo album. You can check ‘em out here if you’re interested. I shrunk ‘em down and put on a watermark so people wouldn’t steal ‘em. I’m not sure that they would … but I want to make sure I prevent it.

I had an issue trying to add them. I’m using the Gallery photo album software. I love it. But there’s an issue with the ownership on the previous ‘Concerts’ album I had created. I wasn’t able to add a new album or delete that one. I could add a new album to other top level albums though. Turns out that the ownerships for the files in that directory have a User of ‘Nobody’ and a Group of (?). I’ve emailed my web host to get that resolved. Until that happens … there are 2 ‘Concerts’ albums in the gallery. The first one is the one with the Gary Allan pics.

Anyways … check out the pics if you like Gary. I was pretty close to the stage … about 6 or so rows back. So I got some decent pics. I’ve already got one set as wallpaper. Hell … I set it as wallpaper shortly after I got home from the concert and got the pics off of my camera. G-grin

I ♥ Gary Allan

OMG … I loved Gary Allan before tonite. Now … I love him even more. I just got home from his concert about a half hour ago. He played for almost 2 hours. And let me say … he ROCKED!!! Robin and I went … and we got to go for FREE. Thanks to the wonderful Avalanche gang. We had been planning on going anyways … but last Thursday I found out that Avalanche was opening for Gary. Kevin told me not to get any tickets. So I got 2 free tickets. I picked ‘em up yesterday from Brad. I can never thank them enough for the tickets. Like I said … we were gonna go anyways … but to go for free … and to such an awesome concert. That ROCKS!!

My poor camera got a workout tonite. I took almost 50 pics of Avalanche and then over 120 pics of Gary Allan (50.4 MB of pics total). And most of ‘em turned out too. Some of ‘em are a bit blurry … but I’m not suprised. It was so frickin’ crowded in there. And then the drunk asses had to start pushing. Why the hell do they have to do that? But my poor camera. It got warm on me. I wasn’t sure if I should turn it off and let it cool down or not. I didn’t. Didn’t wanna miss a good pic. I did miss a couple opportunities when I had to change the batteries. This is the first time I’ve actually run the batteries down on this camera.

The only bad thing … other than the asses pushing … is that my lower back is killing me. I’m not used to standing for that long … and it was on concrete too. But it was worth it … definitely!! And I got a guitar pick too. G-grin Gary was throwing ‘em in to the crowd all nite. I never got close enough to catch one though. BUT … as we were leaving … I saw one on the floor. So of course I snatched it up.

Here’s one of the MANY pics I got. I’ll try to get the others up on Monday (since I don’t work).

:: EDIT 14 Sept 2006 :: Sorry … I removed this image from this post. Some dumb ass decided to hotlink to it. Well, I’ll show them. They’re gonna get a fun little graphic to replace it … heeheehee.

iTunes

Tonite I decided to download iTunes and give it a try. I had 6 caps for free songs. Might as well use them. I say had because I already redeemed one of them. I got “Let Me Go” by 3 Doors Down. I love them, and I love that song. I’ll probably end up buying the entire CD this weekend (since I get paid tomorrow), but I still wanted to get the song.

So … I like iTunes. I’ve only been playing with it for about 45 minutes though. I was searching through the store to see what they had to see if anything sparked my interest. I still have 5 caps … 5 free songs. I’ll probably search for some of the songs I’ve heard recently that I like but would never get an entire CD of the artist. I don’t know if I’ll get any songs beyond my free caps, but ya never know.

I don’t know that I’ll use iTunes as my main music listening device or not. I’ve just been using the Windows Media Player, and that has worked for me. But I’ll see how I like iTunes. My computer is my only way to listen to my CDs at home. My stereo won’t play CDs any more. Hasn’t for quite a while now. Not sure why. But I have had it for quite a while. I haven’t had the money to get one or else I can’t find one I like. My computer works well though. The speakers are still holding up … even though their from my first computer that I got during my first year of college (back in 1994 or 1995).

Now I just wish I had an iPod. I’m trying to get one (see the link at the top), but only 2 of my referers have completed their offers. I think I need to give up on getting the other 3. And I definitely don’t have the money to get an iPod (or any other mp3 player for that matter).

Well … time for CSI. Gonna go veg out on the couch and watch it.

The healing power of music

It’s amazing how music can change your whole mood. I was in an awful mood earlier tonite. Just came on all of a sudden. I started cleaning up my kitchen and felt like I was gonna completely fall apart. It’s like WTF?!? Where the hell did that come from? I don’t know if it’s just major PMS or if there’s something else going on. I’m hoping it’s just PMS ‘cuz that *SHOULD* pass in time.

But I started playing 32 Below, and my mood did a complete 180. For some reason, listening to them has always put me in a better mood … even back in the early days when they were Wolf Butte. Something about their music … or maybe it’s that fiddle (Jeb plays a mean fiddle … LOL). But I’m not gonna question it.

I guess that from now on, whenever I get in one of these moods, I need to crank up some 32 Below.

Side Note: I really hope those boys make it in Nashville. I’ve loved ‘em since I first found them. I always thought they were good enough to make it. Let’s hope them folks in Nashville feel the same way. LOL
