Face down in the sand

That’s how I feel when I wake up in the morning. Like I slept face down in the sand. My eyes are extremely dry. And it feels like it’s starting to get worse. I was gonna call my eye doctor to see how much an exam to check things out would be. But I think I’m gonna hold off on that … at least ’til the end of the week.

I stopped at Target on my way home from work to see about getting some lubricating eye drops or artificial tears. I found some ointment. It’s Bausch & Lomb Advanced Eye Relief Night Time Lubricant Eye Ointment. I’m hoping it’s exactly what I need. The only thing that sucks is that it was about $8 for a 1/8oz tube. It’s TINY. It damn well better work for that price … LOL. I also bought Bausch & Lomb Advanced Eye Relief Dry Eye Environmental Lubricant Eye Drops. It even says “… fast relief from exposure to: … Computer Use”. My eyes have been kinda dry during the day lately too. I don’t know if it’s all in my head or not. But hopefully this eye gook stuff will help.

If things aren’t any better by the end of the week, then I AM going to call my eye doctor. I really want to go back to wearing my contacts at work again. I haven’t been able to since I started back. I can wear them on the weekend though. I think it’s because I’m up for at least an hour before I put my contacts in, so my eyes have a chance to lub-up and wake up and stuff. I don’t have that much time in the morning before work. zzz

Pretty flower

Somehow on Saturday nite, I managed to come home from the bar with a rose. A friend of Barb’s bought it for me. I took a pic of it yesterday against the wall. I was hoping I might be able to cut out the background. Well, I played around with the pic tonite in Paint Shop Pro. I managed to get rid of the background and then I added a shadow to the rose and put it on a gradient background. I think it turned out pretty nice. Of course, I’m not graphic artist. I sure someone else could do a better job. But for the 10 to 15 min I spent on it, it’s not bad.

Here it comes

And I am soooooo not ready. But I’d better get ready. ‘Cuz there’s no stopping winter.

I know that I shouldn’t complain. I do live in North Dakota. And it is almost November. And it could be worse. Out by Williston and Minot, they already had a couple inches of snow by the time I left for work this morning. I only had to dig out my scraper from the trunk to scrape off some ice on the back window of my car.

I’ve always said … it can’t snow ’til AFTER my birthday. Can’t Mother Nature wait just 15 more days? Is that too much to ask? I don’t think so … G-grin

New way home

I decided to come home for lunch today and take a slightly different path. I think it might have been a little bit quicker, not much, but every little bit helps. But it was definitely less stressful. Only one spot that might irritate me. It’s a stop light though, so it’s not that long. I’m not sure if it would be more of a pain at the end of the day or not. But I’ll try it after work tonite. I’m thinking that as long as the weather is decent, I might come home for lunch every day. Not sure there yet.

Gonna go finish eating. I still have about 15-20 mintues before I have to head back. And I’ve already been home for about 10min. Maybe getting out of there at lunch time will break up the day a little more and make things more bearable.

No more waiting

One of the biggest things that irritated the hell out of me at work is the fact that most mornings (expecially now) I get to work before anyone with keys does. So I have to sit in the hall and wait.

Not anymore.

I got a key to the office this morning. Now that I have one, I should ask if it would be okay if I came in 15 minutes early and left 15 minutes early.

Major freak out

A little bit ago my phone rang. I almost didn’t answer it because I didn’t recognize the number. But I did. It was my mom. She said she was at Innovis (one of the hospitals in town). Talk about major freak out. I’m thinking all sorts of bad things. But it’s not that bad, thank goodness. I guess she tripped over a box in the porch running to catch the washer because it was out of balance. She ended up fracturing her arm. Poor Mommy. I don’t know why the hospital in Breck sent her all the way up here. I hope she’s not in too much pain. They gave her a prescription for pain meds, so hopefully she’ll be okay.

Ya know Ma … next time you wanna get out of work, do something that doesn’t involve hurting yourself … LOL.

Relief

I decided to come home for lunch today. I’m glad I did. My unemployment check was in the mail. I wasn’t sure if I was going to get it since I turned down that one job offer. But JSND determined that the work offered “was not entirely suitable”. whew Now I can make my car insurance payment. Thank goodness.

First day back

Things didn’t change much. For starters, I had to wait outside the door for someone with keys to show up. LOL But today, I waiting 20-30 minutes. The roads were crappy from the snow and those with keys were coming from out of town. My computer was still the same … even had my same wallpaper. And most, if not all, of my notes (even the post-its) were still there. We moved my computer into the same room as the other 2 (there are only 5 of us total now). Then I got to work. I’m doing more front-end stuff now since Mike is gone. That’s scary … just ‘cuz I haven’t worked with any of it.

The jury is still out as to if this was the right decision.

And there is heat

Thank goodness. The building FINALLY turned the heat on. I wish they had turned it on yesterday. It got a little chilly in here last nite. And it’s rather chilly in here still. I’m wearing a sweater and am still chilled. Hopefully it’ll heat up quickly. Maybe I should crank the heat all the way up to 90 … I don’t know if that would make it heat up any quicker though. I’m just glad that they finally turned it on.

I did it

I accepted the offer from my former employer to return to work for them full time. I still haven’t heard back from that one company where I had 2 interviews, but at this point, I don’t expect to (yeah … watch … I’ll get a call from them this afternooon. That would be just my luck.).

I will be starting tomorrow. I really hope this was the right decision. I really hope I don’t regret going back. Hopefully things work out. crossfingers

But … I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for other opportunities just in case the *bleep* hits the fan again. I’m also going to keep working with C# to try to learn that. I actually haven’t done anything with that since the day I installed everything. I just haven’t been in the mood.
